Mr. Gev Bhabra Bsc(Hons) MBChB MD FRCS (Tr & Orth)
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and management of shoulder and elbow disorders. My main NHS practice is at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. This is a busy major trauma centre, where I receive referrals from GPs as well as “tertiary” referrals from other orthopaedic units in the region. I see private patients at the Nuffield hospital in Leamington Spa, The BMI hospital in Coventry and the Ramsay Horton treatment centre in North Oxfordshire.
I graduated from the University of Bristol medical school before completing my orthopaedic surgery training in London, based at Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals. I then undertook specialist international fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery in Perth, Australia. On my return to the UK I completed a second prestigious shoulder and elbow fellowship in Coventry, before commencing my consultant post.

My practice encompasses the assessment and treatment of all conditions related to the shoulder and elbow, including acute trauma and sports-related injuries as well as chronic disorders. I practice the most advanced arthroscopic (key-hole) surgical techniques as well as complex open reconstructive and joint replacement surgery for post-traumatic and painful arthritic conditions.
Information about some of the common shoulder and elbow disorders that I treat can be found on the patient information tabs of this website.
I have presented and published extensively in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. I was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) by the University of Bristol for my work on orthopaedic biomaterials used in joint replacement surgery.
I am currently engaged in national multi-centre clinical trials in collaboration with Warwick University as principle investigator and chief investigator. I am also a clinical tutor and lecturer to Warwick university medical students and trainees on the Warwick Orthopaedic specialist training program.
